Baby Queen Live at The Leadmill 28th August 2021

Pop sensation Baby Queen might have only played a handful of shows but last night the 24 year old returned to Sheffield for the second time in just over a month. Having signed a record deal during the first lockdown London-based singer Baby Queen, real name Arabella Latham has spent the majority of her career releasing singles and building a fan base online, her Tramlines set was her second ever gig, the first being at Latitude Festival the same weekend.

In between performances at the Reading and Leeds Festival Baby Queen played a free last minute gig at The Leadmill, part of the Sheffield Music Trails which has been taking place across the city over three weekends, organised by The Leadmill.

Despite it only being announced earlier in the week word got around and there was a fair few queuing outside of the iconic venue prior to doors opening at 7pm to catch the rising star before she goes big time. 45 minutes later, the room was full and Arabella joined her three-piece band on stage and went straight into break-through single, Pretty Girl Lie.

The half hour set saw Baby Queen perform all of her singles, thank the crowd, talk of her hangover following her Reading Festival appearance, mingle with crowd and apoligise for her voice not being up to scratch. The Tramlines set was impressive to say it was only her second gig, a month and a handful of festival appearances later, the progression has been huge!

The Yearbook Mix Tape is set to be released on the 3rd September, following the Medicine EP, a six-track set of bangers which came out in November 2020.

Baby Queen is another part of the Taylor Swift generation with a bright future ahead of her.
