On the 15th October soulful London singer Joy Crookes releases Skin, her debut album. The 22 year old has been a rising star for the past couple of years but the pandemic slowed down her ride.

Born and bred in London, Joy’s mother is from Bangladesh and her father is Irish, this multi-cultural background can be heard in music which she has been releasing since her teens. The self-taught musician uploaded a Ray Charles cover to YouTube when she was just 14 which gained a lot of attention and within a few months she had a manager.

Her first single, New Manhattan came out in February 2016 which also featured on the debut EP, Influence, released in the summer of 2017. Reminiscence, her second EP followed in January 2019 and just 6 months later, her third EP Perception was released just in time for festival season and a spot on Later with Jools Holland.

The lead single from Skin, Feet Don't Fail Me Now came out in June 2021 which has been followed up by the title track and When You Were Mine, all three singles express Joy’s heritage with timeless tones and a soft voice that delivers silky arrangements.

Along with the album comes Joy’s biggest headline tour this November.
