Live Review: Shame at The Leadmill Sheffield 17th November 2021

London five-piece Shame returned to Sheffield's Leadmill last night for the third time with a typically energetic set that didn't disappoint.

This is their first visit since releasing Drunk Tank Pink in January of this year and they brought it to life. The band might be young and only two albums in but they are remarkably tight when it comes to being on stage.

Led by charismatic front-man Charlie Steen who is intense and easily watchable as the 20-year-old dominates the stage with a captivating presence, one minute he's shouting every word like his life depends on it, the next he's crowd surfing or standing on the palms of the front row. When he does go awol after launching himself into the crowd his lively bandmates are equally intriguing.

The hour-long set featured material from both this years album and their 2018 debut, Songs Of Praise.

Is there a more exciting band around?
