Brits Rising Star Griff has been releasing music since Mirror Talk in 2019 when she was just 18. The pandemic might have slowed down her rise, putting out an 8 track ‘mixtape’ in June 2021 instead of a debut album.

The mixed-heritage singer-songwriter (Jamaican father, Chinese mother) grew up in Hertfordshire where she always felt out of place. It wasn’t until she discovered Taylor Swift which inspired her to pick up a guitar giving herself an outlet.
With several singles behind her and the Brit Award Griff headed out on her first tour this weekend in intimate venues in the UK. Tickets had sold out months ago.
Griff has only performed live a handful of shows but she showed no nerves as she went straight into One Foot In Front Of The Other at The Deaf Institute in Manchester. The set was filled with material from the mixtape and her singles, from the powerful yet delicate Good Stuff to pop bangers, Black Hole and One Night as she navigated between acoustic guitar, keys and electric guitar. She also slipped in a slice of Lorde's Royals.
There’s a huge future ahead for Griff.
