When it comes to false starts, Connie Constance has had her fair share. Having released a debut album, English Rose on AMF in 2019, with little success and support she left the label, owned by Virgin/EMI. The Watford-born singer felt she was treated differently because of her race and forced into boxes that matched her skin colour. Connie got out of the deal and tried to do it herself, then the pandemic happened...

Now the 26-year-old is ready to do it again, on her own terms. Her creative juices ran dry during lockdown until the Black Lives Matter gained traction, she felt inspired to make a change which can be heard on her new EP, Prim & Propa, an eclectic mix of pop, punk and rock. The 4 tracks have a youthful energy, driven by the likes of Marcus Rashford who made a difference in the past 18 months.
Since going independent and releasing the music she wanted to she has had more success than she did with the label.
